A Skiving Snackbox is a range of sweets to make the user appear to be ill. They are among a range of products from Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes by Fred and George Weasley. The user develops strange symptoms depending on the type of sweet eaten. The purpose of these were to make a student appear unable to stay in class. Most came in two colour-coded parts: one that would cause the malady, and one that would cure the pupil once they had left class.

so this new gen Hogwarts thing has been eating away at my mind and i did a thing
she’s a ravenclaw and she’s into historical revisionism and writes lengthy and intelligent articles for the zine. she’s also into mixing ‘alternative potions’, and plays as a chaser for the ravenclaw quidditch team.
she hates how history of magic is taught at Hogwarts though, its all books written by crusty old white pureblood dudes (“there isn’t a single non-human author in the syllabus, don’t tell me that doesn’t say something.”).
this is beautiful oh my god
For me as a Theologian, religion was always the big thing that was missing from the books. There must be Christian witches and wizards who have to struggle to reconsile who they are with scripture, and hijab-wearing witches, and Buddhist wizards and a million other magic-users of faith, and I would have loved to see how the combined the two.
