Sherlock has gone to meet Jim Moriarty, confident that justice will finally prevail. Jim has one more thing up his sleeve, though: he has found out about Sherlock’s feelings towards John and tells him that John will be shot to death unless Jim sees Sherlock jump.

Here comes the crescendo!

Remember, remember the 5th of November. The gunpowder treason and plot. I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.
